Education
The
mission of the Education Department is to provide each
child with an enriched educational experience. The home
uses a vast number of resources to provide this type of
experience. Our children attend a wide range of public
and private schools within Bibb County. The Education
Department is run by an Educational Director along with
privately contracted teachers and tutors. Each child is
required to have an hour of study hall each night.
Children spend this time in a fully equipped Study Hall
area. Each child has access to a wide array of resources
such as computers, a full library, and any school
supplies they may need.
Each child has the opportunity to further their education
upon high school graduation. College and technical
training is funded through the Education Fund of the
Masonic Home and grants. If a child chooses to continue
their education they must maintain satisfactory progress.
The Masonic Home requires that each child spend their
first year of higher education at a local college. If the
student makes satisfactory progress during that year they
will then have the option to transfer to a college of
their choice within Georgia.
